The Eastern Cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus) is a resident across most of the eastern United States. The top five shots on the left were taken in Starr Co., Texas, in April, 2007, a location where the range of this aminal and the similar Desert Cottontail (S. audubonii) overlap. The smaller ear size of this animal in comparison to Desert Cottontail suggest it is Eastern Cottontail.
