The Hooded Oriole (Icterus cucullatus) occurs from south and west Texas across the southwest and into California. The male in the top 3 images on the left was feeding on the nectar of palo verde blooms in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, in May, 2008. This was a captive bird at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens.
