| The Mottled Duck (Anas fulvigula) occurs in the southeast United States as well as the Gulf coast of parts of Mexico. It is superficially similar to a female Mallard but has a different speculum, bill color, and darker plumage overall. The Mottled Duck shown here was at Port Bolivar, Galveston Co., Texas, in March, 2001, and was photographed with a Canon EOS 3 and EF 600mm F/4 L lens on Fuji Sensia.
