The Yellow-eyed Junco (Junco phaeonotus) is a common bird in conifer forests above 6000 feet in much of Mexico, but within the United States the species is only found in southwest New Mexico and southeast Arizona. The top 7 shots on this page were all taken on Mt. Lemon, Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, in May, 2008, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
